There's no question that the NDIS is moving towards greater compliance and a national registration framework, creating significant changes for independent support workers and unregistered providers across Australia. In response, the ISW Collective was created to provide a sustainable pathway forward — allowing independent support workers to continue supporting the participants they know and care about, maintain the relationships they have built, and operate under the NDIS registration of Myndie Care while navigating the changing requirements of the sector.

The ISW Collective began with a simple mission — finding a way to protect the meaningful relationships we've built with our particpants.
Founder Marisol entered the disability sector in 2021 and spent a couple years working as an independent support worker. Like many ISWs, she loved the freedom, flexibility, and most importantly, the genuine relationships she built with participants. But as the NDIS began moving towards greater regulation and registration requirements, Marisol started asking the same question many independent workers were asking: "How can I secure my future through the coming changes?"
After exploring the process of becoming registered herself, Marisol quickly realised the financial costs, compliance requirements, and administrative responsibilities were significant — especially for small business owners who want to stay focused on what matters most: supporting our participants.
So, she began searching for a registered provider who shared the same values and vision.
That’s where Tim Deverell, founder and owner of Myndie Care, came in. As an NDIS registered provider and an NDIS participant himself, Tim brought a unique understanding of both sides of the sector — the challenges providers face and the importance of participant choice and control. It was clear from the beginning that they shared the same belief: its important to empower both participant and support worker.
Through Myndie Care, Tim created an opportunity for Marisol to continue running her business with autonomy and independence, while operating as a subcontractor under Myndie Care’s NDIS registration.
And then something unexpected happened — other support workers started noticing. They saw a pathway that allowed them to continue supporting their participants, maintain the relationships they had worked hard to build, and navigate the changing NDIS environment with greater confidence.
From that spark, the ISW Collective was born.
Thanks to Tim at Myndie Care, and Marisol’s innovative approach to finding a solution for independent support work, other ISWs can now access the same business model — continuing to support their participants while operating within an NDIS registered framework. The ISW Collective is now expanding nationally, creating a pathway for more workers to navigate the future of the NDIS with confidence.
Today, Marisol focusses on managing the South Australian Collective while leading the national rollout of the ISW Collective. Alongside supporting ISWs and unregistered providers to join the collective, Marisol continues to welcome new participants and connect them with trusted members of the growing ISW Collective community.
